FAQ
How do we book?
I can be contacted through the "Contact" section on this website, call or text 9079530770 (I'm awful at answering calls, text is best), Facebook messenger, Instagram DM, or a lovely letter sent through the mail.
We will coordinate the date and you have the option to pay in full or split into two increments, half due to reserve the date and the other half due by the day of your session.
I will email a questionnaire a week prior to your session to help me plan, get to know you and your expectations.
I am awkward in front of the camera, will you help me look good?
OMG YES. Everyone is awkward in front of the camera for the first few minutes at the very least, even models. I am also awkward even when not in front of the camera, so I know the feeling. My goal is to take your mind off of having your photo taken by relaxing and enjoying this special time. I also guide you from pose to pose, so you don't have to worry about having it all together.
From families to individuals, I strive to help you feel comfortable and like your most fabulous self!
Where are you located?
I am located in Kenai, and service Nikiski, Kenai, and Soldotna. I love to travel outside of these areas and explore different spots in our beautiful state. There is a small fee depending on how far I have to drive, mostly for gas and a chai tea to sip.
how do i get my hair + makeup looking fresh?
Getting dolled up adds to the whole experience!
I highly recommend any of the stylists at Jasmin's Hair Design in Kenai for any of your hair needs. You can check them out at Jasminshairdesign.com and a style starts at $45. I encourage hair movement in all of my sessions, so please request no or flexible hairspray.
For makeup, we have some serious local talent ranging from $45-75. I have had great experience with Jenna Bakk (find her on FB and IG @jennabakkmakeup), Alexis Terra (@a.terraartistry), Amie Hagen (@amiestylist) and Jessica Seymour (@jseymourmakeup). Do the false lashes, girl. You'll love the extra pop they give!
I recommend allowing yourself 1 hour for each service plus time to get dressed + get to the session location.
how do we get our photos?
You will receive an email link to view your gallery within 3 weeks of your session. Within the gallery, you can purchase prints through the online store, download both the high resolution and web size digitals, and show everyone you know how dang pretty you are.
Will you photoshop me so i look like kim k?
I'm actually suuuper good at posing different body types so you don't. even. need. photoshop! Humble brag, I know.
In all seriousness, my editing style is very minimal. I believe in documenting the real you in this season of your life. I often lightly enhance eyes, teeth, skin, and remove any temporary blemishes (pimples, scratches, etc). I promise you, the clients that I have showcased don't all have perfect skin, and look how great they look! People have pores, what can I say.
What if the weather is bad?
My perfect day is overcast with a warm breeze. Contrary to what most people believe, the bright blazing sun is not your portrait session's friend. But the good news is, I can create in any weather situation, and a little sprinkle could just be the something extra you were hoping for.
Being a primarily natural light photgrapher, my ideal session times are...
Indoor - late morning or early afternoon.
Outdoor - 45 minutes to two hours prior to sunset (golden hour, as they call it), especially great on those sunny days.
where do you take boudoir photos?
Boudoir sessions are held in the client's home or at an Airbnb, at client's expense (ask me for local recommendations!).
As with all in home sessions, all I need is a good window. A bed, blank wall, pretty chair, or kitchen counter are all good options, but we can create pretty much anywhere.
What is your cancelation/refund policy?
All sales are final with the exception of photographer unable to fulfill session, in which case a full refund will be given.
The session can be rescheduled within 24 hours by photographer or client due to weather, illness or family emergency.
